Open Positions
Postdoctoral Researchers: Your research will center on computational cancer biology, leveraging multimodal patient data to advance precision oncology and uncover mechanisms of tumor progression. This role includes close collaboration with experimental and clinical teams, integration of omics and clinical/EHR datasets, development of analysis pipelines, and contributions to publications and presentations. Candidates with strong foundations in cancer biology and experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, and machine learning are highly preferred.
Research Associate (Project Manager): Your role will support a dynamic research environment by coordinating biospecimen tracking and sample processing for next-generation sequencing, managing project timelines and deliverables for major grants, and assisting with manuscript and grant preparation. You will serve as a key liaison for internal and external collaborators, oversee lab resource and budget tracking, and provide general administrative support, including event planning. Relevant laboratory experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and hands-on expertise in molecular biology techniques are highly desirable.
Future Opportunities
Postdoctoral and staff scientist positions
Graduate students, including those nearing the completion of their degrees, are welcome to contact Dr. Nath regarding potential postdoctoral positions.
Requirements and Background:
For positions related to bioinformatics and computational biology, candidates should possess proficiency in coding using a language of their choice (e.g., R, Python) and a solid foundation in statistics, molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, and genetics. Applicants who may not have coding experience but possess a strong background in cancer biology and a fundamental understanding of statistics are also encouraged to apply.
Candidates with extensive postdoctoral experience and a robust publication record may be considered for staff scientist positions. These roles are tailored for individuals who wish to pursue an academic career path without the obligation of securing their own research funding. Nevertheless, both postdoctoral and staff scientist positions are eligible for extramural funding and will receive comprehensive mentoring and support.
Application Process:
Interested candidates are invited to contact us with a brief statement outlining their research interests, a comprehensive CV that includes a list of publications, and, for computational positions, a link to the candidate's GitHub profile. We look forward to hearing from you.
Graduate students
Current City of Hope PhD students who wish to complete rotations in the lab are encouraged to contact Dr. Nath to express their interest and inquire about potential positions.
For students interested in enrolling in the PhD program, please apply through City of Hope's Irell & Manella Graduate School of Biological Sciences.
Visiting scholars
International scholars who are current employees or students can apply to participate in City of Hope’s Global Scholars Program.
These positions are open to students, postdoctoral scholars, and faculty members who are currently employed or enrolled at their home institute. These opportunities are designed to provide additional training, establish collaborations, or advance partnerships.
